Music Video Construction
I my music video construction I had to cut my the song as it was too long so I tried many different combinations of were the music would link well and I think I have linked it very well, I cut out 1 minute of the song as it was too long, this part was an instumental part so it wasn't relevant to my video.
My music video has 1 solid camera angle of the lead singer singing the song from side on this is the main part of the video, I have edited other parts of the music video over this.
Like this I have placed the storyline of the video and other camera angles of the lead singer singing over the top of the main template, this means that the main template will appear when there is no footage over the top of it.
I added a strobe light effect to the music video over the sections where the lead singer is singing to make it look like he is performing on a live stage, i have also added a flash to the music video where the video goes from the story to the lead singer just to add a real life performance effect and and to separate the sections.
I have added footage of the tottenham riots into my music video to give it a more modern feel rather that getting 80's riots as my music video is more modern compared to the original guns and roses music video. I have added these parts to my music video in maximum of 4 second clips to breakup the story and lead singer.
I have used the riot footage in certain areas i have put a raster effect on them to make them look like they are off a TV coming from the news.

Digipak Poster Construction
This was my idea for my digipak poster as I thought of the name 'Trouble In Paradise' I wanted symbols which would represent paradise so I used palm trees, I then used the fire to represent the trouble, I thought it worked well and also in black and white colours as they represent the rock genre well.
I wanted my band logo on the digipak poster so people knew the poster is for the band. I thought this was a good idea as the colours of the digipak match the colours of the logo so it would link well.
This was the finishing touch of my digipak poster as I needed to tell people who looked at the poster when the album would be real released, this is in a bold font which is very simplistic as it needs to stand out to the viewers.

Digipak Construction
This is my font cover for my digipak, it is what was on the digipak poster so it is clear that it is the same band and album.
At first this was my back of the digipak, it included the song which were on the album the bar code and the band logo, I thought it looks a bit boring and doesn't look like a rock digipak album.
I added skulls which is the skull from the logo in between the songs to make it look more like a rock digipak, this is because i have seen other rock genre digipak have a symbol in between their songs on their albums.
This is my inside sleeve of my digipak, I wanted to have the main singer in the digipak as like poster for people who buy the digipak, I tried many different layouts for these images and I thought this layout was the best, I also used a few different images to represent the artist and I thought these images represented the album and the digipak the best.
This is were my CD will go I didn't think there was much need for and art work in this panel as it would be hidden so I just put the band logo and enlarged it to make it fill the panel.

In this task i went on Dafont to find fonts that i liked and thought would suit a 90's rock band and these are the fonts that i found.
I then had to make a logo and as my band will be called Life N Death i though an angel and a skull would be appropriate to combine for the logo and i thing it is quite effective.

Task 15 - Artist Research - Guns n Roses
Guns N Roses Biography
Guns n roses were founded in 1986 By lead singer Axl rose after him and Izzy combined there band "L.A. Guns" with Slash And Duff's Band. They started of small playing at gigs looking for a big break, after there Agent sent there demo "Appetite for destruction" to a recording company. It was a ground breaking album and they got the break they were after. After blowing up and perfuming over all over the world tension grew in the band as they struggled to keep up with the controversial image they were portraying. The band split in 92 after the release of there double album "Use your Illusion" The main reason for there break up was due to the drama queen Esc of Axl Rose. He would turn up late to gigs or not at all and had a habit of just storming off stage when things didn't go his way. Slash and Izzy had had enough of this and eventually decided to split the band. Axl one by one replaced each band member to create what is now still Guns n Roses however not the original line up. Slash went on to do a solo career along with Duff splitting to form his own band. Izzy rode his bike after his rock n roll career and Matt Sorum now lives with family. Rumours are always going around about the band reuniting but after years of conflict and the band still firmly staying apart it probably won't happen within there life times.
Task 15 - Lyrics
"Welcome To The Jungle"
Welcome to the jungle
We've got fun 'n' games
We got everything you want
Honey, we know the names
We are the people that can find
Whatever you may need
If you got the money, honey
We got your disease
[CHORUS:]
In the jungle
Welcome to the jungle
Watch it bring you to your
knees, knees
I wanna watch you bleed
Welcome to the jungle
We take it day by day
If you want it you're gonna bleed
But it's the price you pay
And you're a very sexy girl
That's very hard to please
You can taste the bright lights
But you won't get them for free
In the jungle
Welcome to the jungle
Feel my, my, my serpentine
I, I wanna hear you scream
Welcome to the jungle
It gets worse here everyday
Ya learn ta live like an animal
In the jungle where we play
If you got a hunger for what you see
You'll take it eventually
You can have anything you want
But you better not take it from me
[CHORUS]
And when you're high you never
Ever want to come down, YEAH!
You know where you are
You're in the jungle baby
You're gonna die
In the jungle
Welcome to the jungle
Watch it bring you to your
knees, knees
In the jungle
Welcome to the jungle
Feel my, my, my serpentine
In the jungle
Welcome to the jungle
Watch it bring you to your
knees, knees
In the jungle
Welcome to the jungle
Watch it bring you to your
It' gonna bring you down-HA!

Task 7 - Music Video Analysis - Mega task - Part 2
This music video is a performance based video it uses different elements to portray the image of older people being able to dance in a video and having a lot of energy. The song is quite modern which also creates an interesting contrast and defeats stereotypical young people dancing. The location is quite traditional and is what you would expect to see in a hotel. The mood of the video is mostly quite funny, abstract but unusual this is to do with the fact that someone of the older generation is doing this for example jumping on tables and doing weird dances.
This is a performance and narrative based music video. Justin Timberlake links the video with the song as it is called 'Mirrors' and the video as it is reflecting on someones life. The video goes through stages of time showing their life together as a couple. The video uses age stereotypically as we see the young couple having fun and enjoying life whereas the old couple in their room moving and dancing slowly, most of the time when the music video switches to the old couple there is a slow motion feel to the video and when it concentrates on the younger couple the video speeds up. When the old lady looks through the mirror it shows her past and in the background of the younger versions it shows the bedroom of the older couple. The red book features in many parts of the music video, this could symbolise the love the characters have for each other, as the book is still with the couple when they are old.
This music video is a performance based video which is shot in one whole take, the camera stays in the same position for the whole video concentrating on the singer, so you can see all her movements
throughout the song. She moves through the streets, joined by various dancers
who appear and move in and out of the frame when needed.
This music video is a narrative based video as the young child travels to different locations picking up people along the way. The video is about not listening to people or following instructions and being fed up of being told what to do, this is linked as the song is called 'La La La' which is the noise the child makes when he doesn't listen to the other people and this is a key part in the video.
In this task I learnt that different music videos have different purposes for example narrative or performance based videos, i have learnt that usually the video links with what the song is about, I will take this on board so i can take it into consideration when it comes to creating my own music video.
